The Bureau of Postharvest Research and Extension (BPRE) marks its 26th charter day on May 24 with the holding of a series of technology forum with postharvest industry stakeholders nationwide as it leads the observance of the Postharvest Loss Prevention Week on May 23-29.
BPRE will also launch its Gawad Kalinga (GK) project with the awarding of two units of shelter for the poor in partnership with the National Food Authority (NFA) central office and Couples for Christ (CFC) Cabiao, Nueva Ecija. GK is a holistic work with the poor led by CFC in collaboration with various entities.
Recently, the Department of Agriculture (DA) thru Secretary Luis Lorenzo, Jr. pledged a livelihood support program for GK.
