RPS MOA signing, groundbreaking held in North Cotabato

The Kisandal Multipurpose Cooperative is set to receive a Rice Processing System (RPS) I facility under the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) Mechanization Program after conducting a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with PHilMech during the groundbreaking ceremony on February 28 in Libuo-o, Mlang Cotabato.

The RPS project aims to reduce postharvest losses, improve the quality of milled rice and maximize the potential benefits of mechanization in the province.

The said postharvest facilities includes one unit of multi-stage rice mill with moisture meter and individual generator set. Also, two units of mechanical dryer with six tons drying capacity per batch worth Php18 million.

The MOA signing was led by PHilMech Director III, Joel V. Dator and Kisandal MPC's Chairperson-Dir. Dinah U. Nallos with DA-RFO Region XII Executive Director represented by Rey Domingo APCO of North Cotabato, PHilMech Technical Staff, Alfonso Rico III as witnesses.

Different partners and implementing agencies, such as Landbank, the Department of Agrarian Reform, the Local Government Unit of Mlang, and other government staff of North Cotabato, are presented during the ceremony.
