PHilMech has distributed more than Php 89.4 million or 98 units of agricultural machinery and postharvest facilities to 45 farmer cooperatives and associations (FCAs) and local government units (LGUs) on March 1 during the agricultural machinery turnover in Tandag City, Surigao del Sur.

Machinery grant includes 55 units of floating tillers, 16 units of four-wheel tractors, 15 units of rice combine harvesters, five units of single-pass rice mill, four units of recirculating dryer (6 tonner), 2 units of riding-type transplanters, and one unit of mobile rice mill.

These machines are expected to benefit farmers from the municipalities of Bayabas, Cagwait, Cantilan, Carrascal, Lanuza, Madrid, Tandag City, Lingig, San Miguel, San Agustin, Tago, Barobo, and Bislig City.

The turnover ceremony was graced by PHilMech Mindanao A Cluster Head, Engr. Edgar Testa, Surigao del Sur Governor Alexander Pimentel, DA-RFO CARAGA Director Ricardo Oñate, Jr., Provincial Agriculturist of Surigao del Sur Mr. Marcos Quico, Representative of Cong. Romeo Momo, Ms. Joy Momo, and Mr. Genome Jun Fortun, representatives from the office of Senator Cynthia Villar, and representatives from the provincial and municipal offices of Surigao del Sur.
