Bohol receives Php144M worth of agricultural machines
by Marie Fe G. Carpio (November 8, 2024)
A total of 57 farmers' cooperatives and associations (FCAs) beneficiaries received 106 units of rice production and postharvest facilities during the provincial agricultural machinery turnover under the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) Mechanization Program in the province of Bohol on November 8.

Machines include 32 units of four-wheel tractors, 29 units of PTO disc plows, 22 units of rice combine harvesters, 10 units of stationary single-pass rice mills, eight units of levee makers, two units of walk-behind transplanters, two units of recirculating dryer with 6 ton of capacity, and one unit of multi-stage rice mill with 1.5 ton of capacity.

FMFOD Chief May Ville B. Castro emphasized the importance of cooperatives in maintaining the machines and equipment effectively. She also expressed her hope that these machines would become instrumental in keeping the cooperatives united and not divided.

"Nawa po ay hindi maging dahilan ng pagkakahiwa-hiwalay ng ating mga miyembro ang mga makinaryang ito, sana po ay ito ang maging dahilan upang mas maging matatag tayo, sana po ay sabay-sabay tayong umarangkada."

She also revealed the extension of the RCEF Mechanization Program for another six years starting in 2025 and urged the farmers to continue to apply for machinery grants under the program.

At present, the province has already received a total of 901 agricultural machines under the program amounting to Php732 million benefitting around 161 FCAs and local government units (LGUs).

The distribution is led by the FMFOD Chief May Ville B. Castro with Dagohoy Mayor Hon. Germinio Relampagos, representative of Sen. Cynthia A. Villar, Mr. Rommel Tahindin, and attended by several government officials and representatives to show support to the farmers and the RCEF Mechanization Program.
