Driven by its commitment to transforming the future of Philippine agriculture, PHilMech has continued distributing agricultural machinery to qualified Farmers' Cooperatives and Associations (FCAs) through the RCEF Mechanization Program.
On November 8, PHilMech distributed Php140 million worth of production and postharvest technologies to FCA beneficiaries through the program’s provincial turnover in Puerto Princesa, Palawan.
Department of Agriculture Secretary Francisco P. Tiu Laurel Jr. assured farmers that the government would provide farming interventions to help increase their yield and reduce production costs.
"Asahan po ninyo na ang ating gobyerno ay nakasuporta lalo na sa sektor ng agrikultura ibibigay po namin lahat ng interventions upang mapataas ang inyong ani at kita," Secretary Tiu Laurel said.
Moreover, PHilMech Director III Joel V. Dator also asked the farmers to take good care of the machinery grants they received.
The 120 units of machinery include a four-wheel tractor, PTO-driven disk plow, levee maker,
walk-behind transplanter, riding-type transplanter, rice combine harvester, recirculating dryer, and single-pass rice mill.
These machines were procured under the 2024 fund through transparent and competitive bidding.
