PHilMech re-opens its Child Minding Center
by Noel S. Mariano Jr. (October 10, 2024)
The PHilMech Gender and Development Focal Point System (GFPS) in collaboration with the Administrative Division - Human Resource Management Section (AD-HRMS), re-opened the Child Minding Center in the office after four years since its closure when the pandemic hit in 2020.

Said facility is in accordance with Republic Act 9710 or the Magna Carta of Women Section 22 Right to Decent Work which says that "the state shall progressively realize and ensure decent work standards for women that involve the creation of jobs of acceptable quality in conditions of freedom, equity, security, and human dignity."

This is to provide working parents the option to bring their child during work hours as it decreases anxiety for some - especially solo parents, improving their ability to concentrate on their duties and responsibilities.

According to GAD Office, there are 30 children aged 1-8, currently enrolled.

The center is open for children whose parents or guardians are currently employed at PHilMech regardless of gender, rank, or status.
