PHilMech participates in CFIDP Info-Caravan at Quezon Province

More than 54 coconut farmers and 12 implementing agencies under Coconut Farmers Industry Development Plan (CFIDP) attended the last batch of Information Caravan on Coconut Farmers and Industry Trust Fund Act (CFITF) in Quezon Province at Sariaya, Quezon- Agricultural Trading and Facilities last September 30, 2022.

The Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (PHilMech) joined other CFIDP implementers in an open forum and consultation to address concerns and inquiries of farmers about the CFIDP.

PHilMech ? Region IVA representative Engr. John Mark Licot, presented the shared facilities for processing subcomponent. This is part of Integrated Coconut Processing and Downstream Products to be implemented by PHilMech under CFITF or RA 11524.

To address other information needs of coconut farmers, different information, education, and communication (IEC) materials were disseminated by respective agency booths from DA-Regional Field Office High Value Crops Development Program(HVCDP), Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC)-Region IV, Bureau of Animal Industry, PhilHealth, Department of Trade and Industry-Quezon, PHilMech, Landbank of the Philippines, National Dairy Authority-South Luzon, Cooperative Development Authority-Region IV, Commission on Higher Education-Region IV, Department of Public Works and Highways, and Philippine Coconut Authority-Region IV.

The info-caravan is a collaborative effort of the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) in Region IVA and Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA). These agencies along with other implementing agencies aims to conduct seven batches of Information Caravan in the provinces of Quezon, Laguna, and Batangas.

For September, five batches of info-caravans were conducted in Quezon Province (General Nakar, Lopez, Alabat, Catanauan, and Sariaya).

To complete the seven batches, two more info-caravans will be conducted on October 12 at Rosario, Batangas and on October 14 at Nagcarlan, Laguna.
