PHilMech participated at Young Farmers Challenge Program kick off

The Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (PHilMech) participated at the recent Young Farmers Challenge (YFC) Program kick-off, hosted by the Department of Agriculture's Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Services on June 6, 2024 held at the CBC Multipurpose Hall, DA-PhilRice in the Science City of Muñoz, Nueva Ecija.

PHilMech's exhibit featured audiovisual presentations, highlighting agricultural advancements and ongoing programs. Attendees also received information, education, and communication materials. Additionally, PHilMech's technical staff demonstrated various technologies like the Grain Probe Moisture Meter, Manual Coffee Pulper, and the Non-Destructive Coffee Moisture Meter. They emphasized the practical usage and benefits of these technologies while addressing inquiries.

The event not only celebrated the achievements of young farmers but also provided insights into modern agricultural practices and technologies. Among the participants were YFC Start-Up and Upscale National Finalists, YFC Regional Awardees, YFC Provincial Awardees, and representatives from various partner agencies such as the Philippine Carabao Center, PhilRice, Central Luzon State University, and the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources.
