HRMS conducts two batches of SPMS seminar-workshop
by Don Miguel C. Capariño (September 18, 2023)
The PHilMech-Human Resources Management Section (HRMS) conducted two batches of seminar-workshop on the Strategic Performance Management System (SMPS) on September 7-8 and September 13-14 at the PHilMech Auditorium.

A total of 81 registered participants, 41 from the first batch and 40 from the second batch, have completed the seminar-workshop including the PHilMech Director III, Mr. Joel Dator.

Major Eleanor Prado (RES) PA, Director II of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) Nueva Ecija, served as the resource speaker for the two batches of workshops. She was assisted by Ms. Alma Reyes, HR Specialist I, and Mr. Roilo Barribal, Admin Aide III. The discussion focused on the background of the performance management system in the Philippines and the approved PHilMech SPMS guidelines.

During the second day of the workshop, the participants were tasked to formulate division-level major final output, one of the major components of the SPMS. The output of each division was critiqued and improved by the resource speaker and other participants.

According to Ms. Lovelle Ramos, section chief of HRMS, it is essential that PHilMech personnel are well-informed about the agency’s strategic performance management system through training workshops that provide reorientation of basic policies while enabling a hands-on experience on crafting requisite forms and worksheets. She also added that the two batches of workshops conducted by the HRMS have successfully achieved their objectives.

“As we strive for a more efficient performance management system, the recently conducted SPMS training has successfully addressed the gaps in the agency’s internal guidelines. It made a turning point towards the improvement of PHilMech's existing performance management system and processes,” the HRMS chief said.
