A total of 20 farmers’ cooperatives and associations (FCAs) and local government units (LGUs) of Oriental Mindoro received 27 units of various agricultural machinery and postharvest facilities under the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) Mechanization Program during the provincial turnover held yesterday, February 28, in Naujan, Oriental Mindoro.

These include four units of hand tractors, three units of floating tillers, seven units of walk-behind transplanters, one unit of rice precision seeder, nine units of rice combine harvesters, two units of recirculating dryer, and one unit of multi-stage rice mill (1.5 tph).

The machinery grants are expected to benefit farmers from the 12 municipalities namely Calapan City, Naujan, San Teodoro, Pola, Victoria, Socorro, Bansud, Bongabong, Gloria, Mansalay, Pinamalayan, Roxas, and adjacent towns.

“Malaking pasasalamat namin. Malaking tulong po ito sa aming sakahan dahil sa mahal na po ang upa ng makina sa pagtatanim,” stated Mr. Denver Perico of Macatoc Farmers Association, recipient of one unit walk-behind transplanter.

Meanwhile, as part of the ceremonial turnover, one unit of recirculating dryers (6-tonner) were inaugurated and turned over to the municipal local government unit (MLGU) of Naujan.
