Php35M worth of farm machines distributed in Capiz

A total of Php35M worth of farm machines were distributed to 20 qualified farmers’ cooperatives and associations (FCAs) who are beneficiaries of the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) Mechanization during the turnover ceremony held today in Roxas City, Capiz.

These grants are expected to benefit 47,878 farmer members belonging to the 17 municipalities and one city in the province namely, Maayon, Panay, Panitan, Pontevedra, Roxas City, Cuartero, Dao, Dumalag, Dumarao, Mambusao, Sapian, Sigma, Tapaz, Pilar, Ivisan, President Roxas, and Jamindan.

Various local officials together with Mr. Joel V. Dator, PHilMech Interim Director for Operations, graced the activity.
In his message, Dator challenged the FCAs to become good stewards of the machines so the next generation can also benefit from them.

“Kung may hihingin man kami sa inyo, ito ay ang alagaan, paka-ingatan, mahalin at siguraduhing ang mga libreng makinaryang inyong matatanggap ay aabot pa sa susunod na henerasyon ng mga magsasaka sa inyong lugar.” he said.

The FCA beneficiaries include Brgy. Indayan Farmers Association, Calitan Muti-Purpose Cooperative, Cabangahan Farmers Association, Pasugue Community Farmers Association, Tabuc Norte Farmers Irrigators Association, Tabok Farmers Association, Brgy. Adlawan Farmers Association, Bago Farmers Association, Brgy Angub Farmers Association, Nasunogan Farmers Association, Astorga Farmers Association, Nagsulang Farmers Association, Bubbles Farmers Association, Cabalbat Irrigators’ Association, Majanlud Farmerss and Fisherfolk Association, Balucuan Farmers Association, SJPAF Irrigators Association, and the Samahang Magbubukid ng San Nicolas Farmers.

The RCEF-Mechanization Program was funded through the provisions of the rice tariffication law or Republic Act 11203 authored by Senator Cynthia A. Villar.
