'Makinaryang pantanim' campaign garners support in Aurora
by Jett Molech G. Subaba (October 10, 2023)
Around 97.1 percent of the rice farmers from various cooperatives and associations in Aurora have signified their interest in going to the next level of the “Makinaryang Pantanim, Push Na 'Yan Sa Palayan” campaign during its conduct on October 6 in Baler, Aurora.

Unlike the previous campaigns, PHilMech has now shifted to highlighting the use and benefits of the rice precision seeder (RPS), one of the crop establishment technologies distributed under the RCEF Mechanization Program.

Following the same approach of the campaign, experienced adopter-farmers of the RPS were tapped as resource speakers to persuade and encourage co-farmers to also try and benefit from the technology.

Mr. Jaime F. Guico, manager of the Santor Bongabon Agriculture Cooperative, Mr. Bernardo J. Villedo Jr., president of Debongbogan Agriculture Cooperative, and Mr. Mario B. Marzan and Mr. Noel V. Tabon, Secretary and Manager of the Saint Paschal Baylon MPC, were the speakers during the said campaign

A total of 30 FCAs from the province of Aurora attended the activity, with the support and coordination of the provincial local government unit (LGU) and various municipal LGUs.

Meanwhile, those who have signed up for the next level will be invited again for the technology demonstration of the RPS which will be held in November.
